The South Texas Irish Festival is a free community event that brings the Irish cultural arts to the Rio Grande Valley via food, drink, music, and dance. Hosted by Angelika Eleni Ruiz of McAllen Irish Arts, a traditional Irish music and dance organization, and supported by the McAllen Creative Arts Incubator, the cultural arm of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce.

Angelika Eleni Ruiz Gualberto is the, Director of South Texas Irish Festival; she is a champion Irish dancer, and TCU alum, from Dallas, TX. Over the past two decades, she has competed with the Shandon-O’Reagan school, performed in the Irish dance company ‘Iverin’, and as a new community member of the Valley choreographs for the Decenter of Edinburg’s annual Irish Show. She teaches the traditional Irish arts, dance, and music in the McAllen area.

This event will be the premiere of an annual festival to bring culture and tourism to the greater McAllen area. The event will highlight a vendor market, featured chef, all day entertainment, exhibits, and family activities that represent the Irish cultural arts community of South Texas as well as promote Valley small business.

This celebration of St. Patrick’s season takes place on March 20, 2021 from 12pm to 6pm.  South Texas Irish Festival will take place close to well-loved local establishments and artists at the heart of the McAllen Arts district. STIF will be held inside the McAllen Creative Incubator, located at 601 N Main St. McAllen, TX.  The event is family friendly and will be something you look forward to every year!
