South Texas String Center is made up of four divisions – Education, Private Consultation, Sales and Repairs of Instruments, and Performance and Social Events.
McAllen String Academy is the arm for Education, teaching children age 5 to adults to play the violin through a curriculum including private and group lessons, theory and master classes, chamber music and performance opportunities.
Exclusive to the academy is its technique of using muscle memory versus ear training.
“I have parents who tell me their children have learned more with us and our approach in two months than in three years with other teachers. It’s professional teaching in a fun way to learn,” Sam Heredia said. Available also for private consultation during training are Heredia and Sarah Torres.
Having the ability to provide and care for the instruments they teach is an added advantage of studying with McAllen String Academy.
The last division – Viol Consort String Quartet – provides music and elegance for every occasion such as weddings, banquets, and corporate events performing music such as rock, classical, tango, jazz and more.
