When McAllen’s First Friday Art Walk convenes on Friday, March, 6 the McAllen Creative Incubator extends a most welcomed invitation for the public to come by from 7p.m-9p.m, and enjoy the Art Exhibits on display by Wendy Gilbert & Fred Gonzalez.

Wendy Gilbert and Fred Gonzalez, owners of the G Squared Collaborative, are art teachers with McAllen ISD at DeLeon Middle School.

The G Squared Collaborative began in 2011 through their collaboration as middle school art teachers at DeLeon Middle School in McAllen, TX. While their art styles are different, both agree that process, creativity and experimentation are the center of a strong visual arts program.

This month, The G Squared Collaborative, is proud to announce a new gallery show entitled “Meditations.”  Meditations, is a series of digital artworks created as meditative exercises and will be on display in the Exhibit Hall, in the McAllen Creative Incubator.

In addition, Wendy, who works in a variety of traditional and digital media, will hold a solo exhibit called “Fate & Fairy Tales” on display in Suite 9. This exhibit explores the use of narrative in visual arts. “Fate & Fairy Tales” will be up for the month of March. After Art Walk, for viewings by appointment call 956-460-1880 or email

Each month The G Squared Collaborative art space, Suite 9,  will feature a different artist. Stay tuned in April for new work by Fred Gonzalez. Mays exhibit, will be work by Xavier Perez.
